Will We Ever Be Able To Make Gravity?

There is a very interesting debate on the potential to make artificial gravity.  E=mc2 right so how can we simulate this artificially to harness gravity?  Here is an excerpt on the discussion:

There’s one future technology, a massive violation of the laws of physics which plays a role in nearly every single book, show and movie you can mention.

On Earth, you can stand on the deck of your warship, drink your Romulan Ale from an open topped non-collapsible container, and it’s all thanks to you, gravity. The Earth is pulling the ale towards its center, and it’s stopped by the glass, which is stopped by your meat and skeleton, stopped by your well polished boots, stopped by the plates on the deck of the ship, held up by the rest of a the ship, held up by buoyancy, which all work to keep everything from zipping down to the center of the planet, or at least the floor of the ocean.

Let’s find out more and check out a cool video that “visualizes” gravity on page 2

funny this pic was used….this is the front cover of Dwight’s E. Neuenschwander. book, Tensor Calculus for Physics….everything you need to know about Gravity is in that textbook…well…that and Kip Thorne’s “Gravitation”……

…but I’m sure once matter particles are created, they will emit a small, miniscule gravitational field (not that you’ll be able to discern from it thanks to Einstein’s Equivalence Principle)…….

I’m calling BS on this one. If you did, you’d be able to sell it for BILLIONS of dollars. You would have had to effectively overcome the Earth’s gravity in order for gravity from your chamber to have influence on whatever the object in question would be.

This necessarily means that you would have to be able to CANCEL Earth’s gravity, so your chamber could take over, which is completely bonkers.
