Alpha Centauri is the closest known star system to us at just over 4 light years away. Perhaps we should be spending more effort examining that area for signs of life. And just a few years ago in 2012 they made a cool discovery:
The closest star system to our own is now confirmed to have at least one earth-sized extrasolar planet, discovered by European Space Agency Astronomers working at the Observatory of Geneva.
The planet, called Alpha Centauri Bb, orbits the K-type star Alpha Centauri B, a star slightly 90.7% of the Sun’s (G-type) mass and 50.0% of its luminosity.

Why
Yes, there is life in other planetary systems. That doesn’t mean it has to be intelligent.
Exactly some people can’t get the image of little green men out of their heads , and who knows maybe there’s other forms of life that don’t breath oxygen or water , life breads amazing life forms
Should the Centauries be looking for evidence of intelligent life here?
