One of the commenters makes a great point about safety:
I just finished watching your video. I see you’re wearing goggles. THANK YOU so much! I’m glad to see somebody out here understands and respects the dangers that powerful lasers represent. I went to college study Laser and Photonics Technology and am grieved by how cavalier people are with these high powered lasers. An accident is bound to happen. I wish somebody would specifically make a laser safety video explaining why goggles, beam stops, and safety placards are necessary for operating lasers. I wish somebody would explain power levels, CDRH regulations, laser power classes, (I-!V) and the hazards of varying wavelengths of light and what parts of the eye they affect most. Sadly I don’t have the time or means to do it. And I expct even if I did some puffed up know it all would argue. Thanks again though…not only for showing us the awesome laser but for publicly displaying proper laser safety.
This commenter power trip is skeptical that he could make this at home:
Seems fake. At least the color was for more effect it seems. If this is true, tell me where to get this exact diode. If you don’t reply with an answer as to where to get this exact diode, you admit your video and laser is fake.
I can’t say for sure but styropyro seems to know his stuff so until proven otherwise I will assume it is legit!

Thats awesome

@[1741230755:2048:Fabio Valenzuela] our time as jedi is almost here
Idk about you but my time has already been there, I don’t need a weapon to be one with the force 😉
But to be a jedi you must have lightsaber $#%&!@*. Dont try to get smart with me. Ill strip you from the force
🙂
>”Cannot be measured by any meter but is likely around 6 W”
> 100 W lasers can easily be measured with the proper equipment, i.e. a meter

Not a lightsaber. Just a laser
Can it burn people?
Fairly old technology. Still cool if you never knew. Imagine a bunch of those put together, now you have something.
Zack Dougherty wft get on the ball!
Fund it and I can easily build it.
