Guy Makes a Light Saber at Home and its Amazing

This guy uses a 12 watt main component in this awesome laser DIY experiment… Lightsabers and lasers are awesome and who knew there was a custom lightsaber group on the facebook? Apparently social media can be used to unite around all sorts of interests which is awesome. The home experimenter had this to say about his device:

This is a custom volcano inspired saber I built for my youngest brother using TCSS hilt pieces with a custom paint job by me to achieve a rocky, weathered look. Internals are nano biscotte version 2 soundboard with custom sound font designed by me, 12w blood orange LED by saberforge.

Have you ever seen anything like this? Is this just for Star Wars fans or does this transcend movies in overall coolness?
