Did You Know Space Particles Can Change Your DNA?

this guy just got back from space…seriously

Scott Kelly spend a year in space and when he got back this happened.  Wow is this guy crazy or crazy smart?  Apparently he spent one year of his life in space and had some let’s say interesting changes.  There is one very noticeable one btw.  He has a twin brother and when he came back Scott was two inches taller!  Here is more on what happened:

After living for nearly a year aboard the International Space Station, NASA astronaut Scott Kelly is two inches taller than his identical twin brother Mark.

Kelly, who has spent more time in space than any other American astronaut, reports that overall he “feels pretty good” and now begins what may be a yearlong project to monitor his health. One unique advantage he provides to NASA’s doctors is his identical twin brother, Mark, a former NASA astronaut who spent last year with his feet planted on terra firma.

In addition to his experience here is a challenge for the DNA of future space missions

Cosmic Rays, which originate on the Sun can be harmful to astronauts. Just outside the protective layer of Earth’s atmosphere and magnetosphere, is a universe full of radiation. What happens to our bodies when we leave the surface of Earth to travel in space or visit the International Space Station?

Let’s find more about what cosmic rays can do to your DNA in the video on page 2

It only exposes you to a metric$#%&!@*ton of cosmic radiation, so it would only make sense that your DNA could/would change.

I don’t think that made a science worthy article. Simply because it made it seem like space performed some crazy changes. He was taller from decompression he didn’t have gravity smashing his spine. And then it didn’t go over any true changes that happened to him. Only possible ones. Sorry. Just seemed like click bait to me.
